St. Petersburg is the northern capital and it is the second largest city in Russia after Moscow, which has a population about 5 million people. By European standards it could be the only city in the world with such rich history in a short period of its existence.

Now St. Petersburg is a cultural capital of the country.  Bridges across the Neva River, Nesky Avenue, the Palace square and the Hermitage are the symbols of St. Petersburg. There are more than 300 museums and historical monuments in the city.
